Darin Brannan, President and CEO
Mr. Brannan has 20 years combined experience as an entrepreneur, public company executive, and venture capitalist. Most recently, Mr. Brannan founded Web.com (formerly Website Pros), one of the largest Cloud Computing/SaaS Services company for the SMB sector. He raised $65M from leading VC firms, growing the company to 700+ employees and achieving a successful IPO. Previously, he founded Verio, the largest global cloud hosting company, where he raised over $1B in capital, growing the company to 2,500 employees and achieving a successful IPO ($1.2B market cap), shortly after Verio sold to NTT for $6.1B in cash (the largest U.S. technology acquisition by a foreign company). While at Verio, Mr. Brannan wrote the plan and helped launch VIANet (an international version of Verio), which also achieved a successful IPO. Prior to his start-up and executive experience, Mr. Brannan worked at two leading Venture Capital Firms, Norwest Venture Partners and Burr, Egan, Deleage & Company, where he helped form companies and played an active role in evaluating and guiding investments in over a dozen private companies that achieved successful IPO's.
David G. Jemmett, CTO and Founder
Mr. Jemmett has over 20 years of executive management and technology experience with data centers, telecommunications, and managed services. He is responsible for the company's technical operations to provide the healthcare industry with a complete portfolio of secure, HIPAA compliant cloud hosting and security services in a highly reliable, scalable environment. Most recently, he ran his own consulting firm working with various companies to launch and/or expand their businesses. This included creating a successful plan for a leading EMR software developer to streamline its IT operations, personnel efficiencies, and reduce burn - resulting in a vastly increased profit position. He also played a key role in launching two medical practices from inception to patient care. Prior to his consulting practice, he served as President of WinStar Data Communications, which provided high speed Internet access and hosting services to companies across a wide range of industries. At WinStar, he executed an aggressive and successful growth strategy to expand the market base in the U.S. and launch into Europe through mergers, acquisitions, strategic partnerships, and by acquiring large clients from competitors. He raised significant capital to fund the acquisition, integration and operation of 27 companies. He also founded and was CEO of GoodNet Communications, an Internet backbone and hosting provider that serviced companies in the telecommunications, retail, healthcare and software development industries. It grew to 111 employees before its exit to WinStar.
Christopher G. Bowen, Chief Privacy Officer and Founder, CIPP/US, CIPP/IT
Mr. Bowen is an experienced operations, professional services, and compliance executive. He is one of only 2,582 Certified Information Privacy Professionals in the United States (CIPP/US) by the International Association of Privacy Professionals and one of only 621 worldwide with the CIPP/IT certification. Bowen is responsible for our fanatical compliance, our passion, and our unique culture around privacy and security in delivering world-class healthcare cloud computing services. Most recently, he was founder and CEO of DirectClarity, a healthcare security and privacy and web application company providing services to 43 hospitals and foundations totaling over 60,000 employees serving over 5.8 million patients per year. Previously, he was Director of Global Market Development for First Solar. Prior to First Solar, Bowen spent his career in the public sector where he was appointed by the Speaker of the Arizona House to the Arizona Internet Privacy Committee. In this capacity, he served as a top technology advisor to the Arizona House of Representatives where he created Arizona's first legislative Internet broadcast system; and was appointed to numerous high-level government positions in Congress, at Maricopa County and the State of Arizona.
David W. Bean, EVP Sales and Marketing
Mr. Bean has over 20 years of experience in sales and marketing and management and was directly involved as co-founder, GM, and COO of several start-ups and held executive management roles with public companies. Most recently, he served as VP & GM of a division of AncAla Equity Partners, where he helped form companies and consult with growing companies. Previously, he was VP Channels and Sales Operations at SalesLogix, where he helped grow the company from an early-stage private company to a successful IPO. At SalesLogix, he built an awarding-winning Global Channel Program that recruited and managed 650 Partners in 72 countries and was responsible for 100% of revenue and growth. Under his direction, the company was recognized and awarded the Editors' Choice Award for Channel Partner programs from Computer Reseller News and received the VAR Business Five-Star Rating for Partner Programs. In the early stages at SalesLogix, as a leading executive in the company, he took on several strategic positions as the company scaled to become Sage/SalesLogix (one of the largest software companies in the world), additional roles included VP Product Management, VP Technical Support, and VP Corporate Development.
Carl Kunkleman, SVP Business Development
Mr. Kunkleman has 25 years of experience in pharmaceuticals, diagnostic, medical software and healthcare professional services. He is responsible for developing strategic partner and distribution relationships to further build ClearDATA's market leading position in healthcare cloud computing and information security. Most recently, he launched U.S. Healthcare Compliance, a best-in-class HIPAA security and privacy services company to help physicians, hospitals, and clinics understand how to take advantage of the HITECH Act and address the immediate need for HIPAA security and privacy related work specific to meeting Meaningful Use and information security. ClearDATA acquired his company in 2011. Previously, he was with Ventana Medical Systems as their VP of Sales, where he grew this VC-backed cancer diagnostics company from a private $6M revenue company to a $90M public company in three years. For the initial 10 years of his career, he worked for Abbot Laboratories, a fortune 100 company, and for TAP Pharmaceuticals, where he held various positions in marketing and business development, launched several pharmaceutical products, and ran a $300M P&L and a team of 120.
Bob Abbott, Board of Directors
Robert is a successful venture capitalist and Silicon Valley tech operator, and an all around great guy. Robert joined NVP (Norwest Venture Partners) in 1998 and is focused on a wide variety of investment categories including mobile, cloud & IT infrastructure. His current investments and board seats include Act-On Software, ClariPhy, ClearDATA, Elemental, mBlox, Mozes and Zenverge. Robert was formerly a member of the board of directors of Brand.net (acquired by Valassis Communications), Covigo (acquired by Symbol Technologies), KACE (acquired by Dell), Occam Networks (acquired by Calix), Resonext Communications (acquired by RF Micro Devices) and SideStep (acquired by Kayak). He has also worked with such companies as Embark (acquired by Princeton Review), Escalate (acquired by GERS), Kayak (Nasdaq: KYAK), mPower (acquired by Morningstar) and Quantum Effect Devices (acquired by PMC-Sierra).
Robert has nine years of operational experience in various roles, from engineering to marketing and product management. Before joining NVP, he was at Silicon Graphics. Prior to Silicon Graphics, Robert worked at IBM-ROLM Systems.
He holds a bachelor of science and a master of science in electrical engineering and an MBA, all from Stanford University.
Scott Holbrook, Board of Directors
Mr. Holbrook is a successful healthcare IT veteran and an all around great person. He is currently EVP of Medicity and Co-Chair of HIMSS. He was previously, EVP Co-founder of KLAS, EVP of Sunquest Information Systems and Park City Solutions (lab systems), and was VP at Intermountain Healthcare. These executive roles included responsibility for sales, marketing, business development, product management, integration services, installation and support.
